02 - Love...

...is brightest in the dark

This is the picture about love, inspired by a story from "Avatar - the last airbender", Episode 2x02 "The cave of two lovers" I loved this episode and that story so I tried to picture the two lovers and first earthbenders inside of the labyrinth they formed. For those who haven't seen AtlA (shame on you! ) Here's what Katara reads from the stones in the cave:

"They met on top of the mountain that devided their two villages.
The villages were enemies so they could not be together.
But their love was strong and they found a way.
The two lovers learned earthbending from the Badga Moles.
They became the first earthbenders.
They built a labyrinth of tunnels so they could meet secretly.
Anyone who tried to follow them would be lost forever in the labyrinth.
But one day the man didn't come.
He died in the war between their two villages.
Devestated, the woman unleashed a terrible display of her earthbending power. She could have destroyed them all.
But insted she declared the war over. Both villages helped to build a new city where they would live together in peace.
The woman's name was Oma and the man's name was Shu.
The great city was named Omashu as a monument of their love."

To the picture (artwise):
I failed.. I started sketching right after I finished "Introduction" but somehow, I just had no idea how I should picture "love". I mean, there are so many kinds of it..and you can interpret so much! I chose this because I thought when I heard the story: "Wow, they must have truly loved each other." Same would be with Romeo and Juliet but I had no idea how they looked so I did this instead Wanted to do something with Avatar again anyway. Yeah and then my motivation was gone when I tried to do their faces and it just wouldn't look right >_< Then the lightning was strange and I rushed it...sorry 'bout that
