Description

"The woman standing between them was obviously Persephone's mother. She had the same hair and eyes, but looked older and sterner. Her dress was golden, the color of a wheat field. Her hair was woven with dried grasses so it reminded me of a wicker basket. I figured if somebody lit a match next to her, she'd be in serious trouble."

~The last Olympian, Page ?? (help? I don't have the books here)

So! I'm back after a pause I used for....honestly, I was mainly just watching supernatural and otherwise doing nothing. Yep, started Supernatural...urgh, another addiction. I should really just stop watching TV shows...

Anyway! I started this a long time ago actually. And I never finished it because I was never ever satisfied with the background or the pose...so this time I was just like "fuck it I'll just do it like this and be done with" so here it is. As in the other god-pictures, she's pictured like Rick Riordan describes her in his books, which is brown eyes, dark hair that is starting to turn gray, grass woven into her hair and a golden dress. She's supposed to be a older version of Persephone so...yeah. Oh god, the wheat in her hands was so much work as well as the background..but I actually had fun with it! That's what counts right? xP. I wanted to keep the colors golden and rather mild in contrast to her older siblings (Hestia and Hades) I think Demeter is a rather subtle kind of goddess, even if she seems to have an attitude in the books she's far less furious than Hades and less mysterious and wise than Hestia. So yeah. Gold harvest picture it is ^^. First wanted to bring in her "cereals" but it just kept looking ridiculous xP

I'm feeling like I'm not getting better and it frustrates me even though I know I would get better if I practiced more...*sigh*. I'm sure most of you may know that problem :/. But just enjoy this for now, dunno what I'll do next xP
Really hope you like it!! :meow:

I think its a lovely way to bring out the way Percy described Lady Demeter. Though i find it lovely she could use a litter more out like in her lips, and to lighten her eyes a bit, the dark brown makes it more like how most people see Hades, and Nico's, if you just lighten it a bit it would bring out more of a grainish-honey color. I absolutely love the backround; it isn't over detailed yet it brings out Demeter's true person with the wheat yet the flowers show all agriculture. I must say well done, but to most people it is a different take on how most viewed her. I admit, I love the way you portrayed her in your view while other probably thought her to be much younger but i enjoy it very much!
